Notice of Budget Committee Meeting

A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the Creswell School District 40, Lane County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017, will be held at the Creswell School District Board Room, 998 West A Street, Creswell, Oregon. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message and to receive comment from the public on the budget.

This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.

If needed, a second public meeting of the Budget Committee will be held for deliberation and to take public comment. The second meeting of the Budget Committee, if needed, will take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Creswell School District Board Room, 998 West A Street, Creswell, Oregon, 97426.

A copy of the budget document may be inspected or obtained on or after May 16, 2016 at the District office, 998 West A Street, Creswell, Oregon 97426, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

School board members contribute their time and talents toward advancement of public education. They represent a continuing commitment to local citizen control and decision-making in education.

The students of Creswell School District are served well by their School Board.  Their commitment and dedication to our community is appreciated.

A ceremony of recognition was held at the April School Board Meeting for CMS Principal Shirley Burrus and Creswell School District.

Creswell Middle School Principal Shirley Burrus was honored at the April 8 Creswell School Board Meeting, when Brigadier General Norm Hoffman, U.S. Army (Retired) made a special appearance to recognize for her service as a patriotic employer. 

“The patriot award is given for employers, specifically supervisors, who provide things like flexible schedules when necessary, time off after deployment or to go to training, that care for families and grant absences if leave is needed,” Gen. Hoffman added. “This staff member extended herself to do everything possible to help their employee succeed in both military and civilian careers, because nobody should be forced to chose between them.” – Brigadier General Norm Hoffman, U.S. Army (Retired), Oregon Chairman for Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve
