Creswell School District Strategic Planning Overview
The Creswell School District is conducting a strategic visioning and planning process to develop a roadmap for Creswell School District 40 for the next 3–5 years. The Creswell Strategic Planning process is designed to be a collaborative community process involving all stakeholder groups to develop a cohesive vision and plan for the success of all Creswell students.
The first step of the Strategic Planning process was inviting parents, students, staff and community members to participate on a Design Team to weigh in on the strengths, needs, values and priorities for the future of our community’s public schools. Additional opportunities for public engagement and input are built in throughout the planning process.
The Strategic Planning Design Team will develop a vision and plan framework for the school district. The team is composed of 36 community stakeholders—parents, students, teachers, education administrators, business leaders, and other community members from across the district and with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. The team will be provided with the community input received through the survey and community meetings to inform their work and the process.
District Staff Input Survey
The district staff survey began on 9/30/2019, and will conclude on 10/11/2019. The Strategic Planning Steering Committee will review the results from the survey and prepare a summary for the Strategic Planning Design Team. The Steering Committee will also develop questions for the community survey to specifically address needs identified in the staff survey.
Community Input Survey
The community will be invited to provide input through a survey available online, from 10/21/2019-10/31/2019.
Community Input Forums
At the same time as the surveys and Design Team meetings are being conducted, three community input forums will be held for community members to learn about the process, review the work of the Strategic Planning Design Team and the Steering Committee, ask questions, dialogue with their neighbors and provide input to the plan design in person. The Community Forums will be held in the Board Room located at Creslane Elementary School on October 16, November 6, and December 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Public Board Meetings
Updates on the visioning and strategic plan development process will be provided at public school board meetings throughout the process.
