A Welcome Addition to Creswell Middle School’s Sports Program

Thank you David Heller Foundation!

In September the David Heller Foundation donated a portable AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to the Creswell Middle School’s Sports Program. This welcome addition is now a traveling AED for Creswell Middle School to take on all away athletic events.

The portable AED was given to Principal Shirley Burrus during the recent “David Heller Foundation’s 2019 The Beat Goes On Auction.” It was the 191st AED that the Foundation has given out to schools during the past 5 years. This donation was extra special to Mrs. Burrus as she graduated with David’s father Jeff Heller.

About the David Heller Foundation –

David Heller was only 17 years old when he died on November 23, 2005 as a result of an undiagnosed heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. David had no symptoms that would alert his family that he had a life threatening condition. After David’s death a foundation was established to help other youth and to honor David’s life by providing student athletes and coaches the equipment that they need in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
