Dear Creswell Families,
As you know, this winter has been unusually severe. Since December 8th, inclement weather has caused multiple school delays (three 2-hour delays) and closures (five full-day closures). These delays and closures were inconvenient on many levels, and we want to thank you for your patience as we assessed our ability to safely transport students and operate our schools.
District staff have carefully analyzed our current instructional hours, and we remain compliant with state rules. After discussing the matter at the February Board meeting, and weighing the advantages and disadvantages of adding days in June, the Board plans to maintain the existing school calendar through June 2017.
If there are any additional inclement weather delays or closures, then the Board will revisit the calendar and begin discussions to restore lost instructional time. Students, staff, and families will be notified as soon as possible, should days be added back to the calendar.
Thank you for your ongoing support to prepare our students for success.
