Reward winning words

Well done Joseph!

May is Community Banking Month and to celebrate the occasion an essay writing competition was sponsored by Siuslaw Bank.  The contest was open to youth across Lane County.   The question was asked, “What would you do if you were given $1000.00?”

Joseph Keller, of Creswell Middle School, wrote an award winning essay.  His essay received second place in the competition.  Earning  Joseph a $25.00 gift certificate from Siuslaw Bank.  In his essay Joseph wrote how he would use the money to create more youth parks and specifically get a skate park in Creswell.

Local Siuslaw Bank Branch Manager Cathy Morgan and Marketing Director Jenny Bennett  visited Creswell Middle School along with Joseph’s parents to present the reward.  It was a ceremony with all the trimmings fitting the accomplishment.

For us the reward was deeper then the the wonderful prize and ceremony.  Joseph you make us proud!

Joseph plans to continue writing – we think he should start by sending a letter to local representatives to fund a request for a skate park in Creswell. Congratulations, Joseph, on a job well done!
