No amount of potential weather woes could deter the hundreds of students and community members in attendance for the 5th Annual Earth Day Celebration at Creswell’s Garden Lake Park. Despite some passing rain showers overhead, broad smiles and good spirits could still be seen in the students from Creslane Elementary, Creswell Middle School and Creswell High School.
During the celebration students participated in a number of activities such as: scientific exploration of water quality, stream velocity, nature trail rehabilitation, along with environmental awareness through solar power presentations, recycled art creations, and alternative transportation demonstrations. Participants also learned about planting native trees, creative forms of recycling, animals large and small, and the power of human-powered machines all throughout the course of the day.
The Earth Day Celebrations would not be possible without the help of volunteers, business owners, and the generosity of the Creswell Community. Creswell School District is a proud sponsor of the celebration.
