No amount of potential weather woes could deter the 300 students and community members in attendance for the 4th Annual Earth Day Celebration at Creswell’s Garden Lake Park. With a cooler and overcast Spring day greeting them, broad smiles and good spirits could still be seen in the students from Creslane Elementary, Creswell Middle School and Creswell High School.
During the Celebration, students engaged in a number of activities, such as: a recycled materials sculpture contest, nature talks with local experts, native tree planting, stream velocity measurements with Creswell High School student volunteers and much more.
Creswell School District partnered with the City of Creswell and a variety of environmental organizations for this year’s event. Through these collaborative efforts our community’s fourth annual Earth Day Celebration was once again a proven success!
A special “thank you” goes out to all of the hard working and dedicated people who were a part of this year’s Earth Day celebration. Read a letter of appreciation from the City of Creswell and Creswell School District here (PDF)
