From the District Office:  At this week’s School Board meeting, Christopher Hawken was appointed to fill a vacant position on the Board.

From Creslane:  SMART Reading–Start Making A Reader Today–is underway once again at Creslane. Contact the office (541-895-6140) if you have an hour per week that you could spend reading with a young student and would like to become a SMART volunteer.

The Scholastic Bookfair is happening next week, with shopping available between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday.

From Creswell Middle School:  The CMS Site Council meets on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7:45 a.m.

Looking ahead at CMS, the fall choir concert is set for October 23 and picture re-takes will be done on Oct. 24.

From Creswell High School:  The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be given to all CHS sophomores on Wednesday, Oct. 17.  Juniors hoping to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program should contact Ms. Harris about taking the test again.

…Spirit Week at CHS, leading up to the Homecoming football game vs. Jefferson on Friday.  Other special events are dress-up days, powder-puff football and he-man volleyball on Wednesday and the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, Oct. 20.
