A Party @ Creslane

One recent morning the parking lot at Creslane Elementary was a buzz with activity.  Not your typical activity that one would see at the start of a school day.  This was a Saturday morning. This was a work party.

Over 20 parent volunteers arrived ready for work.  A plan was put in motion.  Their goal was set – the beautification and clean-up of the front of Creslane and the parking lot medians.

And so it began the raking, trimming, cutting and shoveling.

At the end of the day the grounds in front of Creslane were renewed; with more to come.  Through a volunteer initiative and donations 22.5 yards of mulch were able to be purchased from Lane Forest.  The mulch has been stock piled and is only waiting to be spread.  Working with district personal the mulch will be moved out to the parking lot medians. From there volunteers will spread it out.

“We have been talking about doing it for some time now and thought it would be a great treat for Jacque [Robertson] to see the parking lot cleaned up for her retirement and also be a nice welcome for our new principal coming in.”   – Crystal Perdue

What a wonderful act of generosity.  Organized by Crystal and Clint Perdue, along with Launa Gwaltnei, this work party came with a gift to the community and a treat for Creslane’s retiring Principal Jacque Robertson as well as a nice welcoming hello to Creslane’s incoming Principal Ryan Beck.

Good people make a great community!
