Interactive art on display.
Mr. Stepp’s Sculpture Class created these interactive art displays aka “Mystery Boxes” for other CHS classes to explore.
Objects were placed in a box, with a very small hole for viewing and one for light. The idea was to engage the curiosity of the people viewing the display. Most people’s inclination is to examine the box then peak into the hole. By controlling the view and the amount of light it forces the viewer to figure out what the object is. Ideally students picked something that was not easily recognizable.
This art lesson demonstrated that by not giving your audience all of the facts, they will become more engaged.
