Creslane: New Elementary Principal Selected

Creswell School District is pleased to announce that Ryan Beck has been selected as the next principal at Creslane Elementary School. Mr. Beck comes to Creswell from Sweet Home School District, where he has served the past four years as Principal at Hawthorne Elementary School. Under Mr. Beck’s leadership, the school has improved programs, opportunities, and student achievement.

Before his years at Hawthorne, Mr. Beck spent ten years as a classroom teacher in Cottage Grove, Oregon. His passion for teaching and learning extended into other leadership roles that included participation with the Oregon Mathematics Leadership Institute, membership on the district’s Reading adoption committee and district administrative council, and coordination of the district’s after-school elementary talented and gifted program.

Mr. Beck earned his B.A. in English from the University of Oregon in 1994, his Master of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University in 1997, and his Initial Administrative Licensure from the University of Oregon in 2006.

Mr. Beck is a northwest native, originally from Seattle. He and his wife have two children and reside in Eugene.

Mr. Beck is filling the position vacated by longtime Creslane teacher and current Principal, Jacque Robertson. Ms. Robertson is retiring in June.

Mr. Beck is a welcome addition to Creslane Elementary School and Creswell School District. As time permits, Mr. Beck will visit the school between now and the end of the school year.
