Another Earth Day Success

Despite rain showers the 3rd Annual Earth Day Celebration found broad smiles and good spirits in the 300 students and community members in attendance at Creswell’s Garden Lake Park.

Creswell School District partnered with the City of Creswell, Creswell Christian School and a variety of environmental organizations for this year’s event. Through these collaborative efforts our community’s third annual Earth Day Celebration was once again a proven success!

During the Celebration, students in attendance participated in a number of activities, such as: nature walks with local experts, trail rehabilitation with volunteers from Northwest Youth Corps, stream velocity measurement with Creswell High School volunteers, a recycled materials sculpture contest with Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts, and much more.

A special thanks goes to all of the hard working and dedicated people who were a part of this year’s Earth Day planning team. This includes: Stephen Dobrinich from the City of Creswell; Bill Freid, Sean Ferrarese, Aaron Keo, Anne O’Connell, and Joel Higdon from the Creswell School District as well as Jane Christensen from Creswell Christian School. Aimee Hart, Christopher Douglass, and Pam Reber were a part of this effort as well. Further thanks goes to Ray’s Food Place for their generous donation and continued support of the Creswell community.
