subject: Activity report
· We have had a busy but successful start of the school year.
Since August 7 the Technology Department has resolved 145 trouble tickets. During the same timeframe last year we completed 120 trouble tickets. These statistics do not take into account walk-ins and hallway encounters that resulted in additional service callouts.
· I am conducting a feasibility study on replacing the master clock system at our elementary school with a wireless system.
The current system has been problematic and only supports the wired clocks in the new section of the facility. This leaves nearly half the building without synchronized clocks. This includes critical areas such has the cafeteria.
Wireless master clock systems are becoming more apparent. With a wireless system we would be able to overcome the burden of a rewire or additional wire layouts for a new wired system.
If feasibility is determined an implementation plan will be developed and sequentially carried out.
· Four additional security cameras have been installed in our district. The new cameras provide coverage for our bus barn/compound and new storage building. As well as coverage on the eastside of the elementary school facility. The security camera systems at our facilities have been invaluable in documenting events and occurrences.
· Pentamation update –
o Oregon Department of Education has indicated upcoming key changes to several state reports. These state reports are correlated with our Pentamation system. Critical tables and their value markers will need to be updated accordingly. Most of these modifications will be taking effect over the course of the year. I will be tracking them and coordinating the needed updates.
