8th Grade – is planning for their Ropes Course field trip in Eugene on October 18th and 19th.  They will take half of the 8th graders on the 18th and the other half on the 19th.

Open House – was held on September 24th.  We had a great turn out! (Over 350 – we actually ran out of hot dogs and chips.) The evening started with hot dogs, chips and drinks followed by a short assembly in the gym where our band and choir performed.  Parents received GROWL tickets and had a chance to win some great prizes that were donated from local businesses. Parents and students had the opportunity to spend 30 minutes with advisory teachers.  Many parents scheduled their conference for late November.

Parent Teacher Conferences – will be held on November 29th and 30th. We will be having student-led / parent / advisory teacher conferences.  Our goal is to have 100% attendance.  We had 89 % of our parents last year.

State Assessment Scores – are attached. I’ve included a graph that includes how particular classes have scored over the past 3 years.  We have stayed fairly consistent with reading scores and are making great gains in Math and Writing.  I credit most of this improvement to our CIP goals and the teams that Dr. Stuber created.  The staff learned a great deal participating on the K-8 Writing Team and the K-12 Math Team.

Bus Evacuation Drills – Will take place on October 17th.

State In-service Day           October 12, 2007 – The CMS Staff will be attending conferences that will enhance their teaching techniques.

·         7th graders went to the Aquarium on Friday, September 28th.
