· The recent power outages and fluctuations created troubles with some of our electronic equipment across the district.
The most severe of which was Creslane’s phone system. A key component of the system became faulty and had to be replaced. This fault caused the system to loose its programming and ability to function properly. The phone system is back in operation after a day of repair work.
· OAKS/TESA UPDATE -
The district has successfully completed the first wave of testing sessions for state assessments at the high school and middle school. Due to the integrated technology that is used to conduct the tests this department makes an effort to be at the computer lab(s) during testing to resolve any glitches.
· EDLINE will be available at the middle school later this year. I am in the process of creating the implementation plan for a spring deployment. EDLINE has proven successful at our high school as a parent/guardian notification and interaction tool. We will build on that model for the middle school’s deployment.
· Soon the public will be able to keep an eye on the construction progress of the new middle school - an electronic eye. A WEBCAM will be setup with “live” photos being uploaded to our district’s website. The camera will have the ability to pan, tilt and zoom on the project area. At the end of the construction an electronic collage will be made of the project from start to finish.
· Pentamation update –
Northwest Pentamation Conference was recently held in
o Our district’s core users group continues to meet regularly. A topic for our upcoming meeting is the eventual transition to Pentamation’s newest interface called ESCHOOL. This interface will be a transition on the scale of when we moved from the defunct Lane ESD OTIS to Pentamation - a major undertaking. The changeover is required by the fact that the current Pentamation interface is nearing its end of service and workability.
