January 13, 2011
To our Key Communicators,
Last night, with great regret and much
soul-searching, I officially resigned my position as Superintendent
of the Creswell School District and will be retiring as of February
1, 2011. I am not in a position to return to the district as
previously planned due to the need to provide support and care for
my husband who continues to courageously battle stage four lung
cancer.
I will miss you all so much; it has been
a true privilege to work with such a talented and dedicated team of
students, staff, parents, and community members. From my very
first day in Creswell, I felt a wonderful sense of acceptance and
cooperation. The Creswell School Board, parents, students,
teachers, staff, administrative team, and the entire community
demonstrates daily what a district can achieve when everyone is
committed to student learning. I am sad that I will not be able
complete my part in reaching the goals we set for our district. But
I am confident you will all work together to keep those high
expectations in sight.
Both my husband, Dale, and I will always
consider Creswell a home away from home and a community filled with
friends. Thank you for your care and expressions of concern for me
and my family. We hope to see many of you on February 9th
to remember and celebrate our time together; more details to follow.
With sincere appreciation for you all,

Ruby Price
Superintendent, Creswell Public Schools
